Specialist Schools and Academies Trust: iNet Digital Toolkit
Profile
The Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) is a leading body for secondary
education.
They seek to give young people access to a good secondary education by building
networks, sharing practice and supporting schools. The SSAT's way of working
is based on the principle 'by schools for schools.'
They represent the largest network of its kind in the world. iNet is the International
Networking for Educational Transformation which is an international network
of schools, organisations and individuals who are committed to transforming
learning through innovation.
Project
Take One Productions produced a CD-ROM Digital Toolkit to be sold to schools
and colleges in the UK. Aimed at both primary and secondary schools, this CD-ROM
toolkit contains a range of materials to inspire and guide schools as they build
global networks with other schools around the world. It provides examples of
how international school partnerships can be created and maintained at both
primary and secondary levels in the form of text, photos and videos.
The most challenging aspect of this project was to effectively design an interface
that appealed to both primary and secondary schools. By using the iNet logo
as a foundation for colour and style, we were able to produce a clean and clear
design that effectively portrayed the information. The composition of the interface
was designed in such a way that the CD navigation left the user with no doubt
as to what page they were on.
SSAT Feedback
"I would like to thank everyone at Take One who has been involved in
this project. The toolkit looks fantastic, the films are great and the design
is better than I could have imagined! It will be an invaluable resource for
schools.
Can I also take this opportunity to say how brilliant it has been to work
alongside the team. You have all shown a great deal of support (and patience!)
throughout the whole process and have been so helpful."
