Take One Travels the World

Over the years, Take One has produced many programmes overseas, travelling extensively throughout Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.

One of our most recent productions was a six-part programme filmed largely in Vietnam and produced in English and Vietnamese. In the programme, concerns and criticisms from the UK public about the effectiveness of international aid were addressed head-on. The introductory module consists of a discussion between senior staff from the Department for International Development and members of Action Aid. This is followed by five modules looking at the effectiveness, or otherwise, of aid in Vietnam. A Vietnamese TV presenter explores how aid has been distributed and how it has contributed to the development of the country.

Another recent video programme was produced for Natural Resources International's client the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). This programme described and promoted a new 'integrated' approach for carrying out research, which has been evolving over the past few years. Primarily aimed at researchers across Africa, the programme featured interviews with project managers, researchers, private sector representatives, farmers and FARA members, all of whom had been involved in the successful implementation of the integrated approach to research. Produced as a DVD, the programme will be shown to researchers enrolled on an IAR4D training programme.
