Take One Productions: Enabling CIMA to put ethics at the top of their Members’ agendas.

April 2006

By utilising CD ROM technology, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) ensures that every single member is kept up-to-date on ethical developments and that they also understand the CIMA Code of Ethics. Take One Productions, a Sussex-based multimedia company has been working with CIMA to realise this project. Says Carrie Cort, Marketing Director of Take One Productions: "CIMA wanted to shift away from a paper-based system to one that allowed their members to interact with the material. The simple addition of interactive facilities engenders a greater degree of understanding and learning, especially when compared with the one-dimensional medium of say, a brochure.

We produced a CD ROM containing the CIMA Code of Ethics. This was sent to CIMA members. The CD contains a special facility that enables CIMA to update a member every single time they use it. This system automatically checks the CIMA website, downloading any new ethical developments and linking to pages on the CIMA website. In this way CIMA members have access to the most up to date information without having to search for it or enquire themselves. We also developed a tracking facility so that CIMA could monitor which pages were visited most frequently by their members".

The response from CIMA members to the CD ROM has been overwhelmingly positive. Take One Productions is now working with several professional organisations, looking to make paper-based communications a thing of the past.
