Health and Safety training for Superdrug and Savers staff
The Client
The A. S. Watson Group of which Superdrug and Savers are part, is the world’s largest health and beauty retailer, serving over 26 million customers every week. There are over 1,100 Superdrug and Savers stores throughout Great Britain and Ireland.
The Problem
With thousands of Superdrug and Savers staff working in a range of environments including retail stores, warehouses, offices and transportation, it is key that all staff are appropriately trained in health and safety matters related to their work. Superdrug and Savers therefore needed to create extensive material that would sufficiently train their staff across all these work environments.
The Solution
Following our production of a successful staff training programme about how to handle shoplifters and internal theft within Superdrug stores, A. S. Watson commissioned Take One Productions to produce a range of videos that would cover health and safety training for Superdrug and Savers staff working in stores, warehouses, offices and transportation.
After extensive pre-production, we spent twelve days filming with a professional presenter and actors at five different locations. The end product was a series of interactive programmes, which comprehensively covered all the main day-to-day health and safety issues faced by staff.
The training was split into a series of short video modules and could easily be accessed by the viewer on the company intranet via easy-to-use menus. A priority for our client was to make the content available to ALL staff, so we produced subtitled versions and BSL signed versions of all modules.
The Result
High-quality health and safety training videos were produced and used to train thousands of staff across the country; the video has also been made available in DVD format.
Moreover, even if the training modules help to prevent just one serious accident, the cost to the client will easily be worth it.
